Le r\u00e9sultat d&rsquo;une enqu\u00eate men\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de jeunes am\u00e9ricains r\u00e9v\u00e8le un paradoxe surprenant. Car elle d\u00e9montre que <strong>plus on utilise l&rsquo;IA, plus nos capacit\u00e9s cognitives diminuent<\/strong>. Et sans retour en arri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">C&rsquo;est ce que rapporte la journaliste Anne GARO dans son article du 22 janvier 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/itsocial.fr\/intelligence-artificielle\/intelligence-artificielle-articles\/dette-cognitive-ce-que-lia-fait-vraiment-a-notre-memoire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dette cognitive, ce que l\u2019IA fait (vraiment) \u00e0 notre m\u00e9moire<\/a>. Elle s&rsquo;est int\u00e9ress\u00e9e \u00e0 <a href=\"#\u00e9tude-MML\">une \u00e9tude* <\/a> conduite par le fameux laboratoire am\u00e9ricain sur trois groupes d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\">Il s&rsquo;agissait pour chacun de r\u00e9diger des essais sur diff\u00e9rents sujets, de la mani\u00e8re suivante\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Le premier groupe en utilisant ChatGPT, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le second groupe en interrogeant les moteurs de recherche, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le troisi\u00e8me groupe en se contentant de sa mati\u00e8re grise uniquement. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Et, durant l\u2019exercice, l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale des participants a \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9e par \u00e9lectroenc\u00e9phalographie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R\u00e9sultat : les personnes utilisant l\u2019IA g\u00e9n\u00e9rative pr\u00e9sentaient une <strong>activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale nettement plus faible<\/strong> que celles travaillant sans aide, ou avec une simple recherche en ligne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En clair, plus l&rsquo;assistance de l&rsquo;IA est \u00e9lev\u00e9e, moins les zones du cerveau li\u00e9es \u00e0 <strong>l\u2019attention, \u00e0 la r\u00e9flexion et \u00e0 l\u2019organisation des id\u00e9es<\/strong> sont sollicit\u00e9es. L&rsquo;utilisation d&rsquo;outils performants nous d\u00e9connecte de nos propres capacit\u00e9s \u00e0 nous concentrer, \u00e0 raisonner, \u00e0 m\u00e9moriser et \u00e0 nous approprier ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 produit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"border-bottom-width:1px\">Pas de rattrapage pour nos neurones<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais voici le plus inqui\u00e9tant : <strong>la baisse cognitive a un effet durable<\/strong>. Car l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale des participants ayant utilis\u00e9 l&rsquo;IA n&rsquo;est pas revenue \u00e0 son niveau initial. Et ce, <strong>au bout de quatre mois d&rsquo;utilisation seulement<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ainsi, \u00e0 force de d\u00e9l\u00e9guer l\u2019effort intellectuel, le cerveau s\u2019est habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 moins travailler par lui-m\u00eame. Et cet effet n\u00e9gatif a perdur\u00e9 bien au-del\u00e0 de l&rsquo;utilisation de ChatGPT. Par cons\u00e9quent, cette \u00ab\u00a0dette cognitive\u00a0\u00bb est le risque \u00e0 payer pour tout abus d&rsquo;IA g\u00e9n\u00e9rative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"border-bottom-width:1px\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019IA est un outil puissant, mais qui doit \u00eatre <strong>utilis\u00e9 de fa\u00e7on mesur\u00e9e<\/strong>. Elle doit rester une aide \u00e0 la r\u00e9flexion plut\u00f4t qu\u2019un substitut \u00e0 l\u2019effort de penser. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avoir conscience des risques d&rsquo;un usage exag\u00e9r\u00e9 est un atout. Alors, restons vigilant\u00b7es sur l&rsquo;utilisation de ces intelligences technologiques.
